I’ve largely retired from Fanfare, and now am devoting my critical faculties to an ongoing Substack titled “Music in a Vast Space”. My aim is to post roughly once a month, with an essay on a topic that’s interesting to me and hopefully to you. I want it to be something of enough depth and breadth to justify your taking the time to read it, and I see it as an open-ended essay set that may open you up to musical works, creators, and concept you might not have previously considered. (Though I know many of you are more literate than me!)
